Naaz entered the college gate, her steps slow but steady, her eyes scanning the familiar surroundings. She was about to head toward her class when her gaze fell on the park outside the campus.
There under the shade of the old peepal tree stood Sidharth and Aparajita.
For a moment, Naaz froze. Her heartbeat quickened as she saw Sidharth go down on one knee, his hands joined together in front of Aparajita. From afar, it looked like a proposal. Aparajita smiled, extended her hand, and he took it with both of his. Then, to Naaz’s horror, he stood up and pulled Aparajita into a warm hug.
Something inside her shattered.
Her eyes stung as she blinked rapidly, trying to make sense of what she had just witnessed. Without waiting for another second, Naaz turned around, her vision blurred by tears. She clutched her bag tightly and hurried away, her heart breaking with every step she took.
Meanwhile, moments before all this unfolded…
Sidharth stood in front of Aparajita, trying to convince her.
“Aparajita, please, just once. Come with me and act like my girlfriend in front of Natasha. Maybe then she’ll finally leave me alone.”
Aparajita raised a brow, folding her arms across her chest. “Hmm… that’s not convincing enough. You’ll have to request me properly.”
Sidharth sighed, exasperated but desperate. Then, with exaggerated drama, he got down on one knee, clasped his hands together, and looked up at her.
“My dear Rakhi Sister,” he said in mock sincerity, “will you please help this helpless brother get rid of his psycho-type lover by acting as my girlfriend for a while?”
Aparajita burst into laughter. “Fine, fine! I’ll help you,” she said, extending her hand toward him.
He smiled with relief, took her hand, and stood up. “Thank you so much, yaar!” he said, pulling her into a friendly hug.
And that was the moment Naaz arrived just in time to see the scene that would break her heart.

Sidharth entered his class, expecting to see Naaz sitting in her usual corner seat her head slightly bent, hair tucked behind one ear, lost in her notes. But her chair was empty.
He frowned, glancing around the room once more. “Maybe she’s late,” he thought.
Minutes turned into hours, and the entire lecture went by without a single glimpse of her. The uneasiness in his chest grew heavier. As soon as the class ended, he rushed out, scanning every corridor, every bench, every corner of the college where she might be.
he searched near the canteen, then again near the library but there was no sign of her. He tried calling her but her phone is also switched off.
By the time the college day ended, Sidharth was restless and worried.
He walked toward the parking lot, his mind clouded with thoughts. Getting into his car, he started the engine and drove off toward his apartment, but his thoughts were still lingering around the one question Where could she have gone?
Halfway through the road, the car gave a sudden jerk. He stopped, got out, and realized one of the tires was flat.
“Perfect,” he muttered sarcastically, checking the trunk. There was no spare stepney.
And as if the day hadn’t gone bad enough, dark clouds gathered above, followed by a heavy downpour.
“Great! Just great!” he said under his breath, climbing back inside the car to stay dry.
Rain lashed against the windshield, loud enough to drown his thoughts. He pulled out his phone and dialed his mechanic, but the screen flashed No Signal.
Frustrated, he slammed his hand against the steering wheel. “Why today of all days!” he groaned, leaning back in defeat.
Minutes passed, and the rain only grew stronger. The car windows fogged up, and the sound of thunder echoed in the distance.
Finally, tired of waiting, Sidharth decided to walk and look for help. He stepped out into the rain, his shirt instantly soaked as he made his way down the deserted road.
After a few minutes of walking, something caught his eye a faint silhouette in the nearby park. A girl sat on a bench, motionless, completely drenched, her hair clinging to her face, her head bowed low.
His steps slowed. Even from a distance, something about her posture, the way her shoulders trembled slightly felt painfully familiar.
His heart skipped a beat.
Sidharth’s shoes splashed against puddles as he continued walking through the rain, his shirt sticking to his skin. He kept telling himself to focus on finding a mechanic, not to get distracted. But that uneasy feeling in his chest wouldn’t go away a strange restlessness that tugged at him from within.
Almost involuntarily, he turned his head again toward the garden.
This time, his breath caught.
The girl’s face was visible under the flickering streetlight pale, wet, and trembling. His eyes widened in shock.
“Shehnaaz” he whispered, his voice barely audible under the roar of rain.
He froze, standing motionless in the middle of the road. His heart clenched painfully as he took in the sight Naaz sitting on the bench, completely drenched, her hair plastered to her face, her eyes red from crying.
But why was she crying like this?
For a few seconds, he just stood there, numb and unable to move, until a sharp thunderclap broke through the sky, snapping him back to reality.
Blinking the rain from his eyes, he gathered himself and walked toward her, his steps hesitant but firm. When he reached, he stood silently in front of her.
Feeling a presence, Naaz slowly lifted her face. Her teary eyes met his and for a moment, both said nothing. The rain poured between them, blurring everything except the pain in her eyes.
Sidharth’s expression was a mixture of concern, anger, and something softer love. He quietly extended his hand toward her, urging her to get up.
She looked at his hand for a moment, then turned her face away, ignoring it.
He sighed and, without saying anything, sat beside her on the cold, wet bench.
In a low voice, filled with concern, he said,
Sid: “Kya kar rahi ho tum yaha, itni barish mein?”beemar padhne ka irada h kya?"
Without even looking at him, she replied curtly,
Naaz: “None of your concern.”
He clenched his jaw, trying to stay calm.
Sid: “Tum puri tarah bheeg chuki ho, Naaz. Bimar pad jaogi… chalo, yaha se.”
Once again, he held out his hand to her gentle, patient. But she didn’t even glance at it. Instead, she stood up on her own, turned away, and began to walk forward, her figure slowly disappearing into the rain.
Sidharth let out a frustrated sigh as Naaz walked away from him through the pouring rain. Her steps were quick, determined, but he could see the tremble in her shoulders the kind that came from holding back too much pain.
Without thinking further, he moved after her, his feet splashing through puddles until he caught up.
He reached out, grabbed her gently but firmly by the elbow, and turned her toward him. The rainwater dripped down her face, mixing with the tears she’d tried to hide.
He cupped her face in his palm, his thumb brushing against her wet cheek as he asked softly, yet desperately,
Sid: “Kya hua hai Naaz? Please… tell me. Why are you crying?”
She avoided his gaze, her voice trembling but cold.
Naaz: “Please, mujhe jaane dijiye… mujhe aapse baat nahi karni.”
She tried to free herself from his hold, but he didn’t let go.
Sid: “Par mujhe karni hai! Aur aaj main bina baat kiye nahi jaaunga.”
Her eyes flashed with anger as she looked up at him.
Naaz: “Kyun? Mujhse baat karni hi kyun hai aapko? Jayiye na apni Aparajita ke paas! Usi se baat kijiye. Mujhse baat karne ki zarurat nahi hai aapko!”
Her words hit him like shards of glass. She yanked her arm free and turned to walk away again, but this time he didn’t let her go.
In one swift motion, he caught her by the waist and pulled her back toward him. She gasped, her palms landing on his chest as their eyes locked.
Rain dripped from their hair, their breaths mingling in the narrow space between them.
He looked at her intensely, a teasing smirk curling at the corner of his lips.
Sid: “Why? Are you… feeling jealous?”
She stiffened, glaring at him, though her heart pounded loud enough to betray her calm.
Naaz: “Koi jealous-vellus nahi hoon main usse! Main kyun kisi se jealous hone lagi?”
Her words were sharp, but her voice wavered and he caught it.
For the first time that day, a faint smile tugged at his lips, because behind all that anger… he had finally seen the truth in her eyes.
Sid: leaned in closer, his breath warm against her ear as he whispered,
“Are you sure?”
Naaz froze. The sound of rain drowned everything around them, but his words echoed in her chest. She didn’t reply just pushed him back with trembling hands and began to walk away again.
Sidharth’s patience finally snapped. He moved quickly, stepping in front of her and blocking her path. Grabbing her by both arms, he held her still. His eyes burned with frustration and hurt as he spoke through gritted teeth.
Sid: “What the hell is your problem, Shehnaaz, haan? Why are you ignoring me? Why are you ignoring your own feelings? Tum sirf mujhe nahi, apne aap ko aur apni feelings ko bhi dhoka de rahi ho!”
The rain poured harder, but neither of them moved. His voice rose with every word, filled with raw emotion.
Sid: “Kyun nahi maan leti ki tum jealous feel kar rahi ho? Kyun nahi maan leti ki tum mujhe Aparajita ke saath dekh nahi sakti? Kyun nahi maan leti ki tum possessive ho mere liye? Kyu, Naaz? Kya problem hai? Haan bol! Kya problem hai tujhe mujhse?”
He shook her lightly, desperate for an answer, his eyes searching hers.
And then....
She pushed him back, this time harder, her voice breaking as she shouted through tears
Naaz: “Haan hai problem! Bahut badi problem hai!”
He froze, staring at her.
She took a shaky breath, her words tumbling out with the rain, raw and unfiltered.
Naaz: “Problem yeh hai ki I love you!… aur wahi sabse badi problem hai! Nahi dekh sakti main aapko Aparajita ya kisi aur ladki ke saath! Nahi bardaasht hota jab koi aapka naam kisi aur ke saath jodta hai! Haan, main possessive hoon aapko lekar! Nahi bardaasht hota jab aap kisi aur ko attention dete ho, kisi aur ko date par le jaate ho, ya kisi aur ki tareef karte ho!”
Her voice cracked as tears streamed down her face.
Naaz: “Yeh sab dekh ke dil tut jaata hai, Sidhaarrrthhh… har baar.”
For a moment, the world went still only rain falling between them, and two hearts finally stripped of every pretense.
Naaz’s chest rose and fell rapidly as the tears mingled with raindrops on her cheeks. Her voice trembled, but this time she didn’t hold back anymore. Everything she’d been hiding burst out like a storm.
Naaz: “Haan, hoon main jealous Aparajita se! Nahi dekh sakti usse… ya kisi aur ladki ko bhi aapke qareeb! Dil phat’tā tha mera roz jab aap mujhe ignore karte the… jab mere saamne kisi aur ke saath date pe jaane ki baat karte the… jab aap kisi aur ko attention dete the!”
Her voice cracked, her eyes red and glistening.
Naaz: “Aur aaj… aaj to aisa laga jaise kisi ne meri saansein cheen li ho, jab maine aapko usse propose karte dekha. I can’t see you with anyone else… I just can’t… I can’t…”
Her strength gave up all at once. She fell to her knees on the wet ground, her hands covering her face as sobs escaped her. The rain kept falling mercilessly, but all Sidharth could hear was her broken voice echoing in his ears.
He stood there, frozen his mind blank, his heart pounding so fast it almost hurt.
Did he really hear that?
Did Naaz just confess… that she loves him? That she’s possessive about him?
For a few long seconds, he couldn’t move. The thunder roared in the sky, pulling him out of his thoughts.
He blinked, then without a second’s hesitation, he dropped to his knees in front of her. Reaching out, he gently cupped her tear-streaked face in his hands.
Sid (softly): “Ssshhh… Naaz… don’t cry, meri jaan, please.”
She looked up at him, her eyes lost and broken. And before she could say anything, he pulled her into his arms.
The rain poured down harder, but neither cared anymore. Sidharth held her tightly, his chin resting against her wet hair, his hand slowly rubbing her back in comfort.
Sid (whispering): “Bas… enough tears now. I’m here, Naaz. Always.”
Naaz punch his chest again and again with her small fist and said;
Naaz: Aap bahot bure ho, bahot bahot zyada bure ho, kyu aaye ho yaha, jaao apni Aparajita k paas. Usi k saath date pr bhi jao . Aaj to propose bhi krdiya usko to phir kyu yaha aaye , please jao ..
She keep on blabbering until he shuts her mouth by keeping his lips on hers.
She was shocked by his suddent action but soon reciprocate the kiss. He was kissing her passionately & smoothly, trying to take her all pain While she was kissing him hardly , pouring all her frustration for giving her place to other girl in his life.
She bit hard his lips in between the kiss .
they broke the kiss after sometime .
She cupped his face and rub her thumb on his lips and again smashed his lips. This time the kiss was smooth and full of love.
But by the sound of thunder, Reality hit her hard ,she pushed him and stood up and ran opposite direction.
He startled by her sudden action and balanced himself as she pushed him hard, he saw her with his wide eyes , not knowing what had happend , he saw her retreating figure, he came back to his senses and stood up and ran behind her.
He turn her toward him in a jerk and shouted angrily on her.
Sid: Why the fuck you are doing this to me haan ?kyu meri feelings mazaak bna rhi ho kyu mera mazaak bna rhi ho? Kya khushi mil rhi h tmhe ye sb krke ha bolo Naaz .
Naaz: me kuch ni kr rhi sidharth plz leave my hand .
Sid: I don't!!! ( he said in his dangerous voice) . Chu*** nazar aa rh hu tmhe haa? Bol naaz, Jab man hua Kiss kar liya, jab man hua I love you bol diya or jab man hua dhakka dekar zindgi se bahar phenk diya.
The rain had slowed to a heavy drizzle, but the storm between them only grew fiercer.
Naaz’s breath came out uneven, her eyes shimmering with both fear and pain.
Naaz (voice cracking): “Sidharth… please…”
Sidharth’s expression hardened. He took her trembling hand and placed it on his head.
Sid: “Tumhe meri kasam, Shehnaaz… I want the truth. Nothing else.”
Naaz immediately pulled her hand back, shaking her head.
Naaz: “Main kasmon-vasmon mein believe nahi karti.”
He let out a bitter chuckle, his eyes glistening with frustration.
Sid: “Par main karta hoon.”
Once again, he caught her hand and pressed it gently but firmly against his head. His voice dropped low more plea than demand.
Sid: “Ab batao, Shehnaaz. Tell me the truth.”
She stood silent, tears falling freely, her gaze fixed on the ground.
His jaw tightened.
Sid (sternly): “Main kuch pooch raha hoon, Shehnaaz… aur agar abhi bhi sach nahi bataya, to dobara meri shakal dekhne ke liye bhi taras jaogi.”
He took a step closer, his tone rising.
Sid: “Do you love me?”
She stayed silent, her lips trembling.
He lost patience, his voice echoing through the empty road.
Sid (shouting): “I’m asking you something, dammit! Do you love me or not?”
Her head shot up, eyes blazing through her tears as she screamed,
Naaz (yelling): “YES! I love you! I love you, dammit!”
Her confession tore through the silence like lightning.
Sidharth stared at her, chest heaving, heart pounding.
Sid (hoarsely): “Then what’s the problem, Shehnaaz? Kyun baar-baar mujhse door bhaag rahi ho?”
Naaz’s face twisted in anguish. She took a step back, shaking her head helplessly
Naaz (brokenly): "But we can't be each other sidharth, we can never"
He cupped her face and ask sofly
"Why shehnaaz , why....just tell me agar koi bhi problem h hum milkar solve krenge...Agar tmhare ghar walo ko problem h to hm mana lenge unko , me baat karunga unse"
He said desperately but she only shook her head crying mercilessly.
" Then what's the problem shehnaaz".
He asked angrily holding her hands tightly.
Naaz jerk his hand shouting at the top of her lungs
"Because I am married sidharth , I am married".
The words hit him like a thunderbolt.
For a moment, everything went still. The world around them faded—the rain, the thunder, the cold wind—everything.
Sidharth stood frozen, the echo of her confession ringing in his ears, unable to breathe, unable to believe what he had just heard.
